In October, Houston Physicians’ Hospital was proud to welcome Nicholas J. Crafts, FACHE, as its new CEO. Crafts brings over 13 years of experience leading and managing hospitals and is dedicated to guide Houston Physicians’ Hospital and Houston Physicians’ Surgery Center to continued success within the Clear Lake area.

“It’s an incredible opportunity to become CEO of Houston Physicians’ Hospital,” said Crafts. “In this role, I’ll work closely with our physicians and hospital staff to ensure we remain one of the nation’s leading healthcare facilities. Diligently, we’ll continue to find new opportunities which keep our patients on the leading edge of medical technology and care.”

Over the course of his 13-year career, Crafts has held executive leadership roles for hospitals throughout Texas, including chief executive officer, chief operations officer, administrative director of operations and principal consultant. He has been published in numerous healthcare publications and served with multiple associations, including his role as Chairman of the Board for the Cimarron Valley Chapter of the American Red Cross. Crafts earned his undergraduate degree in Business Management & Administration from Louisiana State University – Shreveport and later received his Master of Business Administration and Master of Health Administration from the University of Houston Clear Lake.

Houston Physicians’ Hospital has set the healthcare standard for superior patient care and satisfaction. By adding a personal touch to all patient interactions with low nurse-to-patient ratios, comfortable amenities and state-of-the-art technologies, Houston Physicians’ Hospital’s ultimate goal is to provide personalized care to all patients because all procedures are different.

“Houston Physicians’ Hospital is one of the most trusted medical facilities in this region,” Crafts continued. “It’s an honor to be affiliated with them and it’s my prerogative to continue implementing new healthcare programs and maintaining the high patient satisfaction and quality outcomes that we currently hold, including scores that rank in the top 10 percent in the nation.”

As one of the nation’s leading hospitals for a range of surgeries, Houston Physicians’ Hospital is most known for spinal and orthopedic procedures. Recently, Houston Physicians’ Hospital obtained a MAKO™ robotic-arm system for partial knee replacement surgeries, further offering patients in the Bay area top-of-the-line medical equipment.

In recognition of their excellent performance, the hospital has received the following awards: Healthgrades® Spine Surgery Excellence Award™, Patient Safety Excellence Award™, America’s 100 Best Specialty Care for Spine Surgery™ and Outstanding Patient Experience Award.
